Parked at Ashness Bridge, walked up the hill slightly then tool a left over a bridge under the trees. Saw the wooden sign "Walla Crag".... then that's when we knew where we were going. Not used to this walking up hills stuff but having a...More

If you are in Keswick, you should visit Walla Crag. You can park at Rakehead and have a relatively easy walk, or slog up from Keswick or Ashness and get the best out of it. In any case, you will get a fantastic view (as...More

We've summited Walla Crag several times now and the views over Derwent Water and Keswick never fail to impress. Most people will walk there from Keswick, it's about a mile and a half with much of the way a steady climb. We've done it several...More

We chose to hike up Walla Crag rather than Cat Bells and we were not disappointed. The hike up was moderate and once we reached the peak the view of the valley was marvelous.

This is a steady walk from Keswick and not challenging. The views over Keswick, Derwent Water, Cat Bells etc are pretty amazing on a clear day. You can continue on up Bleaberry Fell and/or further onto Ashness Bridge. You can then walk back to Keswick...More

Some of the ascent was a bit steep for me, but only because I'm out of practice at exercise and my cardio needs some work. Its absolutely a 'walk' rather than a 'climb'. Stunning views, woodland and open fell. Just beautiful. We did 13k in...More

Walked from Keswick to the start of the walla crag walk.... about 10 minute walk... you have two choices either a gradual climb or more strenuous, my daughter and I went for the more strenuous walk. It’s a great walk and well worth it as...More
