You cannot visit this site without marvelling at the location and the 360 degree views. It’s not a mystery why this site was seen as magical but of course it’s a mystery why exactly the circle was built. That is until sunset when we visited...More

A good walk starting from Keswick with easy to follow trail. Possible to retun by alternative route. Good views and well worth a few photos.

We have done this walk many times and consider it to be one of the best in the Keswick area. The climb is gradual and the views from the stone circle are magical. There is a nice easy walk back and you return by the...More

It leaves one somewhat in awe of what mystical purpose it may have served. Why have a stoney inner circle, was it a pulpit or should we be thinking more along the lines of that film with Dan Akroyd & Tom Hanks? Nice views all...More

Perhaps it's not as spectacular as Stonehenge as these are only rough stones with no attempt made to shape them. But I think they are all the better for that. Obviously man made, but why? It's the setting with the hills around that make it...More

We spent quite a while here, soaking up the atmosphere. If you are into this kind of spirituality, it's a great site for that. If you like the historical aspect, ditto. The parking is on the side of the road and it can get muddy,...More

You can walk around it freely at any time. The circle is basically in a field to which there is open access
