Bridge house is one of the few tourist attraction of Ambleside , this was bit disappointing , the size is very small and nothing much to see.located on a very narrow stream and small bridge just one double room structure.
Its an unusual little house perched on a bridge over the river!

Wonderful glimpse of times gone by. Owned by National Trust but free, two tiny rooms, but the lady there when I visited was full of information and stories. You have to park in town car park which can get very busy.
Just a fascinating little building and so unusual that you have to take a picture.
There’s a lovely walk down the side of it next to the stream that was in full flow after the overnight rains which made it even more impressive.
Have walked and driven passed this so many times but it’s always been closed at the time... but today I was lucky enough to catch it open, the lady manning it was so nice, she gave me more information in about 15 minutes about Ambleside...More
