This is a real gem and free.There is an amazing collection of whaling material and associated artifacts that spellbound an eight year old. Go - you will not be disappointed

Maritime museum have had some facinating exhibitions this last year, especially the Shackleton exhibition. The photographs were amazing.

I always visit here when doing the museum run although it makes me sad when looking at all the instruments that killed so many whales, and seeing that poor stuffed polar bear... the history is still fascinating. There is lots to learn and lots to...More

There is plenty to see here to learn about fishing, whaling, seafaring etc. I'd never been but we took our 5 year old granddaughter and she loved it.

Follow P signs then walk. There's nowhere right at the doorstep as it's in the town centre. We found a multi-storey by the marina.

Hi Peter... I've never seen pets in the museum. There are priceless artefacts that could suffer irreparable damage especially if a large very unruly dog misbehaved and therefore i would imagine the policy will be to admit... More
