This has always been a feature of Hull and a great landmark. It is amazing for it to remain in such good condition and “us locals” tend to take it for granted; we should not as it is a great feature of our city.

From a structural and artistic point of view this statue is, in truth, rather unremarkable. I give it four stars however to reflect its beautiful colour (no pun intended) and its splendid condition in view of its age.

King William III was known as "King Billy". This impressive gold statue is located behind the Art Nouveau toilets (that are closed) in Market Place. It is also right next to the Holy Trinity Church. The statue has been around since 1734. It is amazing...More
