I like this place - feels like an event going here, lots of history and the organ gives a great backdrop. Good size too, it can get a great atmosphere. Parking is ok, if a bit steep, at the shopping centre across the square. That...More

The city hall played host to the city's home orchestra on Saturday. It was really a home grown concert as the guest conductor James Hendry - making his first visit to the podium- is a Hull lad made good. He now works with the orchestra...More

We attended the Stylistics show back in October. The show was great and even the warm up ventriloquist act, which we pulled a face at when announced, was great. However, we were sat near the back left and it was drafty and cold. The ladies...More

This venue is the most disorganised venue I have ever come across. The staff that I dealt with over the phone were all either useless or rude. The only staff member who was helpful and polite was a girl called Lucy. Communication in this place...More

Went to see 10cc a fab night, staff friendly as we entered the foyer, only down side is, if you are small and someone is tall sat in front of you then the view of the stage is blocked. That spoilt it for me. Otherwise...More

My partner & I visited to see the Luther vandross celebration show. The venue is ok but the toilets are dismal. They have about 8 toilets to 2 hand dryers. The toilets where not flushing because when one came out one went in. So they...More

Attended the Gin & Rum Festival at Hull City Hall this year. The building itself is grand and beautiful, with lots of original features and a real feeling of history. The festival was great fun, with tons of different brands of gin and rum to...More

We saw a comedy event on Friday night, which was brilliant. Such a shame it was ruined by the disgusting venue. The only reason I've given 2 stars is the staff who were (mostly) quite nice. For goodness sake, get the cleaning equiptment out!

City hall is a nice venue but if you have mobility issues make sure you book tickets on lower floors as no lift to top floor and quite a lot of stairs. The staff are very friendly and I found them very helpful. I have...More

Brilliant show, loved every minute of it. When it was announced the first act would be a ventriloquist, I was really disappointed but the guy was actually brilliant. I would book him in a moment. Was so funny. The only let down was the city...More

You will be able to see, it’s high. I have sat up there but it is quite far away. There are no obstructions to block your view. A bit like going to a Westend show, high up.

The balcony seats close to the stage give you an unrestricted view and the sound is very good
