Looking for somewhere to go for a walk that wasn’t too far. Googled local places and found Heartwood. Hadn’t really heard of it before. Nice place to walk , ride a bike or just sit for peace and quiet. Lots of potential.

It's beautiful countryside, parking and paths make it easier for more people to enjoy. This is the reason I avoid it at weekends, bank holidays and school holidays. The Heartwood Tea Rooms in Sandridge is a great place to go for a cuppa after a...More

This was my first visit to the bluebells woods since the controversial path was installed. I had expected to hate what had been done but, in the end, a re-enforced gravel path was probably the best option to keep the woods open for the number...More

Many thanks for your review Andrew. The decision to put the path through Langley Wood was not taken lightly but we are confident, as you elude to, that it will help us guide visitors through the wood in an appropriate manner and protect the bluebell...More

I came here to walk the dog and will do so again. However, much of it feels like work in progress and I think it will be a decade or two before the new planting fully blends in. Two things spoilt the experience for me:-...More

Many thanks for your review Michael. Heartwood Forest is very much a growing and evolving site - the first trees were planted in 2009 and the last went in this March - so we're very much looking forward to watching them grow and develop over...More

We spent a very pleasant afternoon here yesterday, Lovely walks both through and outside of the actual woodland. The forest itself provides comforting shade although the bluebells were past their best (May 06). Free but no toilets. Excellent parking but for refreshments you need to...More
