The building has been wonderfully restored, the cafe and shop are well stocked and reasonably priced (love the Dorset Star cider) and the audio tour is engaging, informative and makes you think. A really good half day out.

Loved the museum. Very interesting artifacts and stories of local "criminals" in years gone by. Can use the entrance ticket all year and have a chance to hear some of the other stories. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and clearly proud of the museum and...More

Lovely place we had a training course here. Was shown around the courthouse which is a must. So many interesting facts and you can try on different hats good for the children. Has a lovely cafe. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We didn't realise Shire Hall was open to the public so when we saw it was open we decided to visit. Our tickets last a year which was a bonus. Staff are friendly and informative. The displays and information were excellent. It was really good...More

This is one of those places where the new that is café/access/information and care for detail mix with preserving the historic past so well. None of the stuffy National Trust here or "oh we are English Heritage" doff your cap. This is worth a visit...More

Recently visited and am really impressed with this new museum. Great shop and cafe too. Entry fee gives you a full years admission. Well worth a visit

We visited on third day of opening, so everyone was learning, including the visitors. Very helpful staff, Personal speakers / headsets very interesting narratives.

Hi Linda, ticket prices are: Adult £8.50, Child £4.50, Family £20, Concessions £7.50. Price includes free repeat visits for a year when you gift aid your ticket. There is a gift shop and cafe which both have free entry.
