I wanted to get my friend a really special birthday gift. I found this trekking centre using a google search and I couldn't be happier that I did. The staff I interacted with were incredibly helpful and Nathan (who took us out on the trek) was fantastic! I certainly didn't feel like it was the first time I had been there he was that friendly and knew exactly what to say/do to support our ride. Considering I had never ridden in beautiful hills/countryside before, he completely put me at ease. We both had an amazing day & said it was the best trek we had been on. We loved it so much we're desperate to book again before the season is over. Thank you so much for such a fab experience 😊

Having booked a trek on the phone for my granddaughter on the last day of the summer holiday, we arrived early, completed paperwork, sorted out safety equipment and were then told there was no record of our booking and we could not ride. One very disappointed little girl! If you book by phone I’d advise you to confirm before you go.

I joined the 2 hour hack on Dan and it was fabulous. I ride regularly and found the route to be just right in terms of suitability. It was a great way to see the landscape and the two ladies from the centre (Lauren and Math- sorry if that’s incorrect spelling!) were knowledgeable, friendly and great company. Would recommend this yard to other experienced riders and all other abilities. The horses genuinely enjoyed their work and all seemed happy and healthy. Thanks again for a lovely afternoon.

I had heard great things about this trekking centre so I came with a couple of friends and gave it a go. We live quite far away but we decided that it would be fun to go riding. Upon arrival we stood around for a good few minutes before someone came and spoke to us but while we were waiting there were many people, who I assume were working there, that didn't come up to us and simply just walked passed us. When we were finally approached, the lady was lovely and friendly and I assumed that she was the person that I made a booking with over the phone. We were told to go into the portacabin to get helmets and fill in a sheet although she didn't give us any information on what is the best fit in terms of helmets, which from experience I know can be dangerous if you wear the incorrect size. We filled out the forms and headed into the menége and they started bringing the horses in and one of the staff members gestured me over, he was fiddling around with girth and I looked at him and asked if I could mount up and he looked at me as if I was stupid and said "well yeah" which I shoved under the rug as I assumed that it had been a long day. When we were riding it was lovely to see the beautiful village and countryside and when we went onto the Tissington Trail we went past many bicycles and none of the horses were fazed which I would expect as they had probably been on this trail loads of times before. After a bit, the guy asked if we wanted to trot but one of the people we were with had never ridden before and was unsure what she had to do. The guy turned looking very confused and was questioning how she didn't know how to do a rising trot in a very patronising way which made my friend feel rather uncomfortable. When we got back we were told to go back into the menége and wait for someone to collect our horse, we waited quite a while before someone came to help us which confused me slightly as there were so many people working there and I didn't see another customer anywhere. When we had dismounted we made our way back into the yard as we wanted to pay but there was no card machine which meant that my friend had to be paid for by someone else. Although it sounds like our trip was full of negatives there were many good sides as well but I think that overall we would not return to this riding centre as I don't believe that it was worth the £40 or the one hour long trip to get there. But if you are in the area I would advise you to go for a trek as the ride itself was amazing just make sure that you go earlier on in the morning if you want a better atmosphere.
