AGC is amazing. The two caddies we had were a hoot as well with their endearing accents and sayings. The place has very nice views and the atmosphere is phenomenal!

A good test of golf with stunning views. If you like links golf then you have to play here. The green fee is excellent value for money for the standard of golf course. We could not have received a warmer welcome from staff and members. We will definitely be back!

We may have been impressed with the glory of Old Head but the beauty and friendliness of Ardglass stole our hearts We were greeted by every member we met who took the time to make us feel at home Each hole shared unprecedented views of the Irish coast line and villages The course was in incredible shape Our caddie Francis was knowledgeable and was top notch with both of us! A must golf experience!

Just s short drive (40 minutes) from Royal County Down, the golf was super and the members of the club were even better. Eight of us played Northern Ireland courses over a course of a week and we played Ardglass twice because it was so much fun and welcoming. The opening six or seven holes along the coast were great. And THEN there are four holes holes along the back side that were as memorable as the front. The caddies were all local kids or members the club itself and they were rightly proud of their little known track. We were a fairly "active" bunch who asked our caddies to play some holes with us, had a buggy serve as a rolling pub, and enjoyed hearing our favorite tunes on our bluetooth speakers. It was fine... We weren't "ugly" Americans because we wouldn't have been as relaxed were the club and her members not equally so. They also claim to have the oldest clubhouse in Ireland. You have to see it. Probably bought more shirts/crap from Ardglass the RCD or Portrush. Loved it. Do not miss this place.

We looked up the course on line before playing and were amazed at great the golf course looked - and playing it confirmed this. You must visit and play if you are in County Down to play Royal County Down Golf Course.!! The course is not easy but was most enjoyable - there are some great holes which you will remember many months after. Take a caddie to get full enjoyment as the layout is confusing at times - we had Gerry who did a really good job. The clubhouse is said to be the oldest in the world dating back to 1405 but that refers to the building not the golf course which dates from 1896. We even saw seals waiting to catch salmon off the coast. It was a special day and we were all surprised that we had never heard of this course before.!! I can not believe that there is any golf course offering so many holes with sea views and situated directly on the rocky coastline. By the way you can rent golf cars which enhances the experience for older golfers. We all had a most enjoyable day in the sunshine for most of the afternoon.!!
