Alas, we did not see Stone Sheep, but others we spoke to did. Beautiful area and the road is good. Great places for picnics, but watch for wild animals.

My ultimate favorite place to go hiking as the campground is located in the middle of several hike trailheads. Including Summit, flowering Springs, and Baba Canyon. Also don't forget to check out the erosion pillar which is actually three different pillars located just past the...More

Drove through near the beginning of our cross countries trek. Amazing views, even in all the snow. Would love to go back in the summer months and see exactly what’s hiding under all that snow!

A great stop to picnic and relax on the drive to/from Fort Nelson. Nice camping spots. And the hike up Stone Mountain is a challenge. Read the trailhead signs before proceeding!!

We stopped at Summit Lake to enjoy the beauty and scenery of the mountains and the jade coloured water. There is plenty of parking space and washrooms are available. It's a great place to stop for a picnic and a rest from driving the winding...More

Summit lake is cooler and tends to have a breeze. It's a spectacular lake and makes for a great picnic spot away from the bugs. It's adjacent to the highway so traffic noise is present. Campground and day use area are clean.

Yes, there were several families camped there around a small but very scenic lake. Plus the biffys are large enough for an adult to assist a child.
