I was fortunate that the level crossing gates closed as I approached and me and the next tow cars were able to capture images as the train came right in front of us. There is no parking at this station though

Our boy (10) loves trains so this was a real treat. The station is well kept, bathroom, picknick area, old carriages, kind staff. We parked at Bodiam Castle (3 pounds for the day), 10 minute walk away. And of course we took the train!

It is worth looking around while you wait for the steam train. It is in walking distance of Bodium Castle. If you have a sweet tooth you can buy something to nibble on.
