About
Railroad interpretation centre located in Edmundston, NB. During the tour you'll discover a museum with real artefacts in a replica of a 1900 train shed. Next, you'll be touring a 900 square feet layout at 1/87 of reality. We also have two train rides, a tractor train and also a 1/8 of reality on rails.

Nice time filler for the kids
Aug 2021
Family run, and boy do they live for this! You do feel their passion for their centre, and you've got to love them for that.

When you arrive, someone will take you through a tour of the collection of artifacts on show. They try to ask questions to the kids to make it interesting, but it does feel a little long winded.

Then they lead you to watch a short video about the centre, where the owner is interviewed. It's an old video, on VHS tape, and it feels like it goes on for a while.

After that it's on to the model railway. Amazing attention to detail. And something the owner himself has designed and built. The kids loved it. I'm just in awe of the passion of the man to get up every day and do this stuff.

Then he takes you on a little train trip around the grounds... but not before explain every twist and turn of the track we're going to take - replicating crossing the US boarder. My kids just wanted a train ride.

As we go around, the owner/train driver stops at the pretend customs to tell them who he has on board (the customs officer is dummy).

They really love their centre and their trains, and they're going to share it with you whether you want it or not!

Overall, they're adorable, it's a lovely little place to visit. But the long winded tour, explanation, video - they may leave you growing a little impatient at times.

Wonderful museum of artifacts and model train layout
Jun 2019 • Couples
My wife and I had a wonderful 90 minutes at this unique and interesting place. We had a guided tour by Emily who took us through everything including an excellent model railway layout based on the Edmundston area. We then had a trip around the property on a train on wheels. In a few weeks the riding train will be open. This is an obvious labour of love by Guy and his wife with lots of locally donated artifacts. There is an excellent gift shop as well with a special gift for model Railroaders like myself. They are working on some unique family camping ideas. They are very environmentally conscious and recycle and reuse many things in their creations. Anyone with an appreciation for trains will enjoy this place. Thank you Guy and Emily for a great visit.

Good place to visit with potential for more
Jul 2018 • Family
Our guide was great and we learned a lot about wood and trains. I was, however, disappointed that the miniature train is not working. The model is awesome and worth a look but I would have appreciated to see a train move on the rail. The bonus ride on the train at the end is worth it if you have little kids, my son really enjoyed it.

Hidden Gem on a Hot Day
Jul 2018 • Couples
I confess, I am a train fanatic. I have been involved in model trains since I was a teen and continue to enjoy them. When my wife suggested a shopping trip to Edmundston, I checked for train related things on google. Up popped a CBC article on Guy and his operation. We spent several hours with Guy and his excellent student guides and said hello to his lovely wife as well. It is a comfortable feel all over and Guy took the time to indulge my interests and went the extra mile. At the end when you get to the gift and hobby shop I spent a few dollars on some train treasures for myself.

The people, the exhibit and the whole experience reflect their passion for railroads and trains. I look forward to visiting again sometime. Highly recommended.

An unexpected gem
Sep 2017 • Couples
Guy gives an excellent oral history of New Brunswick railways. The collection of old equipment is very interested and the train layout in the basement was fabulous. We did not know of anything that would catch our interest in that area. The neck tie that Geraldine makes, was great. Thanks again for a wonderful tour.

Our favorite spot on our road trip
Jan 2018 • Family
We stopped for a visit mainly for my 3 year old but myself and my 10 year old ended up loving it as well! So much history, dedication and love put into that place! The owners were extremely accommodating with potty breaks and a nursing session. The lady even brought out a stroller for my infant daughter. I love how efficient and creative they are using donated materials and turning them into gift bags, hammocks, etc. We will be making a trip for sure this summer to get the full tour.

Entertaining and educational, hidden gem
Aug 2017 • Family
We didn't know what to expect, but boy were we impressed with this hidden gem. The collection of artefacts and memorabilia is extensive. It's a family-run place, and their knowledge and passion for all things rail-related is obvious and infectious. Definitely go here if you're ever in Edmundston, you'll learn a lot and meet a lovely family!

Hidden Gem of the River Valley
Jul 2017 • Family
Myself and my friend loved our visit to the interpretation centre. You can tell that Guy and Geraldine have poured their heart and soul into this experience. It's also so great that EVERYTHING is recycled materials. This is such a great stop for families! I can see teenagers not being impressed, but they seldom are with anything. I would go back in a heart beat and I have been telling and recommending it to everyone who's thinking about doing a trip in New Brunswick.

Not very professional
Aug 2017 • Family
We arrived 5 minutes before it opened and was met by a girl who looked at our 2 year old and said he wouldn't be interested in the museum and that the train rides wouldn't start until 1 pm today. When I asked if there was an earlier train ride she said "no we can't go earlier because it might have rained" hunh?!?!? It's 25 degrees and sunny and hasn't rained in days!!! Very unimpressed with staff and we have a very unhappy toddler who wanted to see the trains.

Hi! Thank you for your review. The visit is concentrated on real artefacts of the railroad and miniature trains, these items can look very fun to grab for a 2 year old and this can cause an immense stress on the parents during the visit. That is why we sometimes recommend only the train ride for the younger children. We'd rather you enjoy the train ride than regret having taken a visit. Thank you!
