Family in Nuremberg told us the Schloss was open on a weekend we were around. We paid 10 € each for an organised tour of both the Schloss and pencil museum. The tour was only in German, so overly long when you cannot understand what...More

We stopped at the Faber-Castell castle as part of our trip to retrace the steps of my father in WWII and of my father & mother during WWII reconstruction. After the war, this was the Officers' Club for the U.S. Army. Also, the lawyers for...More

Toured the pencil factory, you learn all about the history of lead/graphite and how pencils have been made through the ages. Pretty interesting, but it does get along. Our group got a nice souvenir at the end and they have a nice gift shop

I love visiting this castle, for the xmas fair or to go and see the factory. The grounds and garden are well taken care of. But the products in the store are highly overpriced. My daughter wanted a certain box set with water colors. She...More

I used their color pencils when I was small so I have been longing to visit their factory. It is a benefit if you know German because the tour is conducted in German. Tour lasted for about 2 hours and we received a 15% off...More

Arrange for a tour of the pencil production (guides available for English, French, German & other languages) then the beautiful grounds, gift shop and the castle. Pencil production is a favorite of children. We saw several schools on tour.

The Faber-Castell residence was very nicely restored and it keeps years and years of history the only problem is that there was no way to find out about it as the tour and all signs are in German only.

If you are into watercolour art then this is the place to visit Although the staff speak English they don't really cater much for English speaking tourists. I had to join a German speaking guided tour of the castle.

Worth a visit. Lots of interesting weapons on exhibit. Nice explanations of history exhibits too. Fun walking through castle. Gift shop could be much better, only a few books. Missing an opportunity to make money - I for one, love castle gifts shops. The tower...More
