Just me and my 18 year old daughter on the most fabulous tour in a Boston Whaler with Nick. Saw two black bears, humpback whales, orcas, Dall’s porpoise, pacific white sided dolphins, Steller sealions, harbour seals, hummingbirds (at lunch stop), pigeon guillemots, heron, and bald eagles. And of course a Siberian Husky. We went 91 miles up north east through the islands and inlets as far as Stuart Island from Campbell River and saw whirlpools too. What a trip! Nick was the perfect tour guide and shared a wealth of information about the place and creatures he so obviously loves and respects. Such a pleasure to have him and the boat to ourselves and not feel like sardines, be rushed for time or struggle for a view.

We went out from Tofino a few years back and that rated a zero compared to this straight 10 trip with Nick!

Would absolutely say this is the tour for you! We had a fabulous day. Massive thanks to Nick and Yukon.

Nick was recommended to us by another company and how lucky we were. From the outset to the end of the day 8 hours later Nicks knowledge of the local waters was invaluable. Bears had not been around the shores in recent weeks, but he persevered and eventually found some feeding at low tide on a remote beach some distance north of our starting point. Saw Black & Brown Bears after watching them feed and getting very close to shore for close up pictures, we headed South in search of Whales we saw 17 in total all in different locations, a combination of Humped Back, Grey & Killer and we were always first to find them. We certainly put some KM's on the clock that day. Would definitely recommend Nick and not forgetting his first mate Yukon the Dog

Had the most amazing time with Nick and Yukon, Nick is do knowledgable about the area and especially about his whales, the wildlife’s welfare is his top priority, treating them and their surroundings with respect.
A small tour is the best, much more personal experience. We were blessed to see Orcas, Humpback Whale, dolphins, Seals, bald Eagles and spectacular scenery.
Thank you Nick for a day to remember.

My wife and I had the pleasure of going out with Nick and Yukon for a tour this afternoon. We had a great time. Nick is very knowledgeable and asked us the animals we wanted to see. We set out on an adventure and were not disappointed. His knowledge of the area and knowing the right places to look led to an incredible experience. First mate Yukon is the most pettable First mate you can ask for. Thank you Nick for taking us out today.

We had the experience of a lifetime with Nick and Yukon. After another large tour company let us down last minute we got in touch with Nick and he agreed to take us out that day, the last day of our trip - even though he didn’t have plans to head out! We had our one year old with us, which meant it was difficult for us to find someone to take us on a tour, however Nick was accommodating, understanding, helpful and enthusiastic. He couldn’t have done enough and made the last day of our holiday a memory that will last forever. Nick is extremely knowledgeable and keen to share his passion. We felt safe, well looked after and so grateful to have found this opportunity so last minute! Yukon is an incredible dog, so adorable, clever and friendly.
We would go back one hundred times over if we could!

If I could give 8 stars I would. We have already been on the water with Nick and his dog Yukon in 2018. Many other tours we did in Canada in 2018 and repeated this year got worse. Nick's tour, on the other hand, is still more than great. It starts with the fact that Nick has a smaller boat than the competition. It's estimated that there's room for seven people at the most. You should bring a hat, because the boat has no roof and offers a puristic whale watching feeling (which I still find the best after more than 10 years and about 50 tours with various companies in different countries). Small, fine and immersive, just the way it should be. Far away from air-conditioned interiors with warm tea on huge ships and 100 other people. You can get warm clothes on site, of course.
Nick knows the area like the back of his hand, is in contact with colleagues from other companies and knows exactly where to go to get the best view and the best light (for all photographers) on the wildlife, as he also takes pictures himself. Nevertheless, he respects the rules and also cares about the animals, which is certainly a tightrope walk at times, and yet no one gets a raw deal. Because Nick knows where to place the boat so that there is a chance that the whales themselves will swim to you and thus all the rules are followed. Simply super again and again! Yukon, his dog, who is always on the boat (it's more or less his boat, Nick just steers it) rounds off the whole thing. When the dog sees dolphins and virtually "talks to them", it puts a huge smile on the dog lover's face.

On the tour with Nick you experience whale watching as it should be in my opinion. And even after three tours with him in different years, I would always come back. Nick was also one of the two reasons why we "extended" our three-week stay in the USA, starting in Las Vegas, to Canada, just to be able to go on the water again in Campbell River.

Nick was a great guide. He knew right where to go and was very respectful of the whales and their habitat--also very accommodating of passengers' varied needs and desires. His "crew-mate" Yukon was a great addition to the journey as well. It's great being on a small boat with one guide (and a dog). We saw sea lions up close, as well as humpbacks and orcas (my dream come true). I'd highly recommend going with this company.
