Overview
More
Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park straddles the scenic Little Qualicum River, west of Parksville, where impressive waterfalls cascade and plummet down a rocky gorge in a beautiful forest setting. Perhaps the most magnificent park on Vancouver Island, Little Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park and the awesome Cathedral Grove Rainforest. Cameron Lake is bordered by steep mountains: Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south.

We hiked to the falls which are incredible! I can see why you don’t swim in them. The trails are not well marked but are possible. Lots of ups and downs and walking around rocks and roots so you need good mobility for the trails....More

If you are tired of the heat, the pollution and the city streets, take an hour or two and visit this Park. You and your kids (or friends) will love it. The air is so crisp and clean and the falls are mesmerizing. Not huge...More

Lovely falls that only gets better the higher up that you walk. Easy trek but likely slippery when raining. Watched kayakers planning their risks and route then managed a few shots of their downstream travel. Nice colors and sounds. Worth the brief excursion off the...More

The hike is nice but involved stairs, so not accessible, if that's a concern. The upper falls were quite impressive, the lower not so much. If you're in a rush I would recommend the nearby Englishman's falls instead.

Great place to hike in the early spring. The trails are clear even though the parks people have not started working yet. Great place to walk you dog. The falls are beautiful, but make sure you have good foot wear and have company with you...More

This well forested park has walking trails, a small swimming area, beautiful waterfalls, picnic and camping areas. A great place to get away and be close to nature!

It was a pleasant 2 hour walk in the snow and ice and nice views of falls and trees covered with falling snow. It was a challenging walk to the upper and lower falls and recommend waterproof hiking boots for this walk.

As you may infer from the title, we visited the falls in the winter and were rewarded for this with a peaceful walk mostly by ourselves. We would highly recommend visiting both the upper and lower falls as they are very different from each other.

I guess we've seen too many sets of short falls / gorges over the years in many Canadian locations, especially the Rockies. This one was very nice, but unfortunately water flow was very low because of an extremely dry summer. We're not sure if it...More

Nice short hike - trails a bit challenging in the winter ice and snow but quite a lovely place to visit. Highly recommended.

There was, I’m told, a fee a long time ago. There is no charge at this time. There has not been a charge for many years.
