It's a very beautiful and peaceful park. I was surprised at how big and breathtaking it is. I love it. And the lodge is only open first Sunday of a month but it's quite interesting place.

Minnekhada Regional Park in Port Coquitlam is a beautiful park with various hiking trails and a large lake. Plenty of wildlife to see, including large variety of birds, and bears. Quite a few of the trails are steep and not suitable for hikers without some...More

I love this place. On a rainy day, you basically have the whole park to yourself. I usually do a full loop around the park, sit on the low knoll view point for a while watching the calm swamp down below. I will do the...More

Close to the city with far mountain ambience, a walk in Minnekhada is worth every step. A strenuous workout on the trails, some sections very steep, followed by breathtaking views, best this time of year the valley is dressed in fall colours. Limited parking, no...More

I did this hike last fall with my friend who came to visit me. It's really nice and easy, just a perfect stroll through the wilderness. Has a couple of nice view points and it's kind of marshy in places. Perfect for all levels, don't...More

Whilst exploring the area we came across this Regional Park; an area of natural beauty with trails, wildlife and a 'house' (wedding venue & film set) which the Caretaker (Simon?) showed us around - he was informative & very helpful, the place immaculate. Bears &...More

I can hardly believe that such a beautiful wilderness is located so close to the city. Whether you want to bike, hike, walk or bird watch. This is the place. Just be bear aware and recently cougars have been sighted in the area.

Hi, Alex. There is only a small marshy area - with no fishing - within the park, but the east side of the park borders on Pitt River, which has good fishing. Don't forget your BC fishing license!
