Although the church wasn’t open we wandered through the churchyard, which was very interesting. This church is an old village church in the countryside.

This small town is associated with Robert Thompson the wood carver, whose mouse signature is all over the church. The font cover is by a student of his and has a newt. The church has a guide book with interesting local history.

Quiet and pretty little church. Very much part of the community. We had fun spotting the mice and picked up an interesting booklet about the history of the village and church. Well worth a look

Worth a look if staying in Kilburn. Was left feeling intrigued about the gravestone of the woman who lived to over 100 years but who was not named on her headstone except as someone's mother and wife. Would love to know the story!
