A warning to tourists, we experienced aggressiveness from a vendor selling fake bags.
A tactic they now use is to hold most of their stock behind a plastic curtain so you need to enter a small space with a narrow entry point to view and negotiate.
My wife was negotiating with a vendor while I waited outside. The vendors partner then motioned me to enter the small room while they were arguing about the price. He then blocked me from exiting the room by positioning his chair across the exit and sitting on it. Would not move when requested. I had to wait until he got of the chair before we could exit.
The other vendor was getting agitated because we would not agree to his price, to the point of threatening us. Time to get out of there.
Didn't have any problems with other vendors. Overall they are less inclined to bargain than they were pre pandemic but still plenty of bargains to be had.
We visit here every trip to Manila for the shopping, plenty of restaurants and foot spa. Will return however avoid the bag section.

Love it, great place to go for some shopping - you need about half a day.
Taxi from makati was $250 peso.
We loved haggling for knock off handbags, shoes, purses, jewellery.
If you don’t like haggling and having a bit of fun with the stall workers then this is not for you.
Every purchase we were told they would give us a 50% discount !!! Or we were the first sale for the day so brings them good luck!! Right - anything for a sale but that’s why we went to shop, and we did.
The fake good brands (Prada, Chloe, Louis Vuitton etc) are all hidden behind the front of stall as it’s illegal. It’s funny watching them hide things and transport the contraband handbags between stalls in black plastic bags so no one knows what they are carrying.
When bargaining, you have to start low and meet them somewhere between your staring price and theirs. If you are not close to the money they will let you walk away / then you know you need to pay more.
We came away with many hand bags, card wallets, purses, pashmina’s, runners, jewellery.
Google before you go so you can show them what you want. We got 2023 styles from LV, Chloe, Vancleef and Arpel, Fendi, Yeezy, Adidas, Nike and more.
Take your own shopping bags so the other stall holders can’t see your loot although they are good and could tell exactly what we had purchased. And take plenty of cash, not a place you want to use your card and there is an ATM just outside - which we had to use

Because of the enhanced quarantine protocols, you must wear a face mask, a face shield and show a quarantine passed issued by the local government to enter the Shopping zone. People just go to buy groceries nowadays. And it will take 45 minutes to 90 minutes inside the Unimart supermart.
Along Ortigas Ave. the 3 lane street @ 1.5 meter wide per lane has been narrowed to 2 lanes for 4 wheeled cars and the 3rd lane for bikes only!. And the road trip time is now longer. 500 meters travel takes about 20-30 minutes Noontime temperature this Sept is 36 degrees Centigrade

Wow this place is amazing, they have everything copy you can think of and all reasonably good quality for the price. Such good value infact you don't care to bargain with them, I found myself happy to pay the prices. I planned to spend a day there, but ended up going back for an evening as it was that good and completed my Christmas Shopping. Even if you're not into copy stuff (as this is what it mostly is about) if you go into the centre they have some real designer bags and clothes at discount prices. Definitely worth a visit.

The shopping experience was insanity. Hundreds and hundreds of vendors screaming at you to come inside their booth for “special discount” Every single vendor said “ only special discount for you today, you’re my first sale” then ask for a tip after. Of course i knew i wasn’t their first sale. They suck you in to their booth and barricade you in so no one can see you looking at their fake bags. Definitely sketchy. The first booth i went in to tried to pickpocket me. I read that in a review before I came and sure enough, it happened to me. Thankfully, nothing was in my back pockets. Some of the bags are good quality but a lot of repetitive stuff with all of the booths. Fun experience, but it gives you anxiety the amount of people in there trying to pull you in their booths.

GSC is still a great place to shop. The variety of wares and restaurants/cafes are such that you won't be satisfied with just a day's visit.
Parking is really a problem though, and sometimes the throngs of people whom you have to compete with at that desired watering hole or resto of yours.

Overly pushy sellers mostly women trying to get you in booths to upsell you on knock offs. I was looking for a simple backpack or duffle bag for a quick side trip.when i asked for price was instantly told 13000 pesos regardless of what it was. I bought a non leather prada backpack for 3000 pesos and a pair of gucci slides also 3000 pesos. Everything is hidden and very low quality. I did find a few pairs of knock off gucci sneakers but again 13000 pesos... got them down to 9000 pesos but who is paying $169 for fake gucci?

If you love shoes & bags and cant afford the original ones , Greenhills is the place to be, Especially the Shoes , the Quality is too good , you will never know the difference , the best price you will pay for a pair of shoes is 1600 peso, you can also get the lower quality for 500peso . you will need an entire day there to shop.
you also got clothes , caps , jewellery, mobiles , watches & show pieces.

Totally fun way to spend a few hours or more while in Manila. FYI- Don't be in a hurry, depending on traffic (from hotels near airport) it could take an hour or more. Ginormous area of pearl vendors, handicrafts, tech floor...truly dizzying amount if vendors for everything. I am a solo female traveler, and felt comfortable there. Would go during day hours, and of course stay vigilant of your surroundings.

Is there a way to get from Subic Bay to Manila by ferry?
All I have seen is taking a taxi to Olongapo then the bus from there. Can you give me some alternative ways to travel that don't cost a lot?

Can you tell me how much I can expect to pay for a South Sea golden pearl stud earrings---approx. 10 mm with a 14k post--no diamonds?
How will I know where the pearls originated? I am looking to buy a China South Sea Golden.
Written December 30, 2019
As a pearl lover and having purchased pearls from all over the world, I can tell you that Chinese do not harvest south sea pearls.
I wouldn’t buy it from China especially golden SS pearls , they are all from Indonesia or Philippines.
You can test them by rubbing them to your teeth, , if it feels Gritty they are genuine, if feels very smooth and silky it’s fake.
Most of the SS pearls in Philippines are quite large 13mm plus.
Small ones are cheaper, they go by the size.
You need to shop around there are so much choice in green hills.
And bargain
As a foreigner the price will be higher then if you were Philippino..
As a guide 14-14.5 mm pearl would cost you approx. $70- 80 each pearl un drilled without any gold fittings. That also depends on the quality & lustre of the pearl as well.
I hope it helps.

Are the Tiangge’s are open today in ground floor? Cuz there was a time we went there, the Tiangge’s are closed cuz of changing their designated stall. Thank you.
Written March 21, 2019
Hi,
They do have a time when the shopping stalls / tiangge are closed — those days are when they reshuffle their location (I think) but even I don’t know what day of the month they do this.
Probably better if you call ahead and ask before heading to Greenhills (I’ve had the same experience where Tiangge was closed when I visited).
I don’t know their concierge number but maybe try their official website (you can Google it — unfortunately Tripadviser won’t let me post actual link in this reply. 😞
Enjoy your shopping!

I would say no. And a big part of the problem you would have at Greenhills is that the isles are moderately narrow and usually very crowded with people. Not only would maneuvering be a problem, but you might get jostled a bit.
