Extremely efficient check in process and helpful staff. They had all the boats ready for us upon arrival and explained everything we needed to do for the trip. Easy to get to and plenty of selection.

Boat rental at South Lake Tahoe
Aug 2021
The rental boat we were given was 20 years old with close to 5000 hours on it. Totally filthy, not even the windows had been cleaned. Would definitely never rent another boat from this company period.

Huge Operation LONG Lines LOTS of Waiting
Aug 2021
We rented boats from 2 different companies in Tahoe. At SkiRun Boat Rentals (South Lake Tahoe Boat Rentals) We rented a boat for 4 hours. This is a HUGE operation and you spend the first hour waiting in lines to do paperwork, fitted for life jackets, then waiting for them to pull your boat out because it's on such a narrow channel. Then you wait for the driver who pulled your boat out of the channel to get picked up from your boat. Then you wait when you come back to the channel to have them board your boat and park it in the marina. Go to Lake Tahoe Boat rides instead and ask for Captain Dan. He was awesome. Your boat comes with a driver, you meet right at the dock and off you go. So easy and fun. You do have an extra 20% gratuity for driver, but it was well worth it. Everyone can enjoy themselves!!

Great experience of the lake

The entire experience from signing up for the ride till hand off was well orchestrated. The signing up process was smooth and most of it was online. The boat was clean and we were given a proper guidance of the boat operations. The drive into the Emerald bay was memorable.

Dip in the water. My three grandsons went up together and had a blast! The associates who drove the boat and another to assist people on and off the parachute were the best! Felt very safe!

Nice ski boat but Pricey!
Jul 2021
Our family has been renting boats on lakes in Northern California for tubing and water skiing for about 10 years. I have owned 2 ski boats in the last 25 years and I am very experienced. We rented a class E + Four Winns 210 with a tower, we found the prices to be very high compared to other lakes. We spent over $900 for 4 hours. That is about twice what we normally pay at other lakes. The boat was clean, powerful, and well equipped, but the depth finder was not working properly. The lake is low this year and I inquired during the walk through before we left the harbor about the depth finder working properly. I was told it worked well. It worked long enough to get a few hundred yards from shore and the LCD display became unreadable. Having that work properly would have been nice during a low water level year. During the paper work process it was made clear that after you sign the rental agreement, there are no refunds. That is pretty common in the boat rental world.
We rented the boat from 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm in the middle of the week. Weather reports did not predict and storms or rain events for the day. I am also a pilot and recognized the clouds building to the south east of the lake. We decided to got for it and we had a great time for about the 1st hour and a half. Then the weather came in with a vengeance. Lightning, Thunder, Winds, and a major downpour. The storm tracked to the north west and we were able to avoid the majority of the storm cruising along the south west corner of the lake. The boats are equipped with radio's and plenty of folks were freaking out in the storm. The swell kicked up to about 3 ft with white caps, even where we were. It was a rough ride working our way back and forth about 100 yds from shore and eventually back to the rental dock. Even with the weather, we did have a enjoyable day on the water. Lake Tahoe is not a lake for rookie's when the weather kicks up. I asked the deck hand that took us out to the buoy line about the suspicious weather I noticed, and he did not think there were any issues coming in. Bottom line is to trust your instincts.

Fantastic excursion

Fantastic trip. My son (20) and I went parasailing, and my daughter stayed on board. Brilliant crew with Captain Mark and Harrison as first mate, even if they did absolutely dunk us for laughs towards the end hahaha. Recommend the full 1,000ft line. Also, check your hotel/motel for vouchers, as many will offer discounts on your booking.

Fun for the whole family

Had a blast. Pricey but worth it. Tubing was great. Equipment worked. Boat was decent but a bit old. Did most of our paperwork on line and they were short staffed so it took an hour to leave the dock but our dock person was wonderful, friendly, informative. We'd do this again!

Great Company!
Jul 2021 • Family
We reserved a 20’ boat for a half day (3 hours paid, 4th hour free). Reservations were very easy to make and are recommended. We picked a very busy time so it did take about an hour to get checked in and on the boat. Our 4 hours didn’t start until we were on the boat. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We are repeat customers and they always treat us right!

It’s too expensive. Paper work is too long, it took me an hour to leave the dock. They charge for everything (docking fee $85). It’s to complicated to leave the marina. I would not recommend this place. There has to be another in Tahoe
