Chopta valley's spectacular beauty can be seen only when you go deep into it and not when you just take a 10-minute detour (while coming back from Gurudongmar) like most tourists do. The best way is to combine Chopta valley with Kala Patthar (which is...More

It is on the way from Lachen to Gurdongmar lake. If someone does not point it out to you, possibly you would not even notice it. You will pass by many such views or rather more beautiful than Chopta Valley during your travel in Sikkim....More

You can't skip Chopta Valley if you are visiting Gurudongmar lake, and it's a picturesque place with much needed stop over for food and bio-break. It's a small village and offers homestay on wooden small sized huts, but you need to be there to book...More

We saw the valley on the way back from Gurudongmar. It was a bit of a letdown, because honestly the valley didn't look extraordinary, and the rest of the journey seemed much grander in all respects. In any case, it's a 5-minute detour from the...More

This "valley of flowers" is a very picturesque destination situated near Lachen, Sikkim, which is cut off from the mainland.

Travelled to Gurdongmar in May 2017 and crossed this area twice. I had heard a lot about it so stopped here while on my way back, just to straighten my body and relax for a while. Air around this place is fresh as there is...More

You pass this valley while on the way from Lachen to Gurdongmar lake. If someone does not point it out to you, possibly you would not even notice it. It is quite an ordinary valley and need not really be mentioned as a great tourist...More

Its a hidden treasure of Eastern Himalayas at the altitude of around 13100 ft, at a distance of 30 plus km from Lachen! Visited the valley in October while returning from Gurudongmar Lake. A 10 mts ride on the newly laid road (Thanks to BRO)...More

Villages on the way are very very small. I don't think there would be any place to stay en route. All the bikers whom we met at Gurudongmar were staying at Lachen. My suggestion would be to base yourself at Lachen and... More

No health risk if you are healthy and fit. The 45 mts stay at the lake is well manageable. Carry biscuits and bars or have tasty noodles at Thangu. But the road condition is too bad, be it car or bike.. For bikers, no doubt... More
