Have hiked to the Falls a few times, they are nice but not really spectacular. It’s not too long of a hike and while there is some elevation gain it’s nothing major. I did make the mistake of doing it after snow and it was...More

Even though we were well aware of the trail report website, it slipped our minds to check it that morning. When we got to the bulletin board at Emerald Lake there was nothing indicating that Hamilton Lake was not in good condition and the description...More

In the morning we walked the easy 5.5km around Emerald Lake and after lunch decided to go to Hamilton Lake. The climb up is a little boring, a continuous zig-zag (switch backs) path until you get above the tree line. We did this in July,...More

On our visit to Yoho National Park yesterday we made the short hike up to Hamilton Falls from Emerald lake. The half mile walk is fairly steeply uphill. The falls themselves are not great to look at, and there are not many good viewpoints when...More

While we were at Emerald Lake we saw a sign pointing to Hamilton Falls / Lake. We figured we would check out the falls. We got there and honestly it was a complete disappointment. Yet we continued on hoping the lake would be the reward......More

We wanted a little more hiking after viewing Emerald Lake. This hike can be as long or short as you choose. We only traveled roughly 1/2 mile along the trail and went up about 200 verical ft. The trail is maintained but there are roots...More

This was a great trail to hike. The falls can be seen about 15-30 mins in on the hike. There is no sign in at the trail entrance and no trail information. The hike to Hamilton lake stated 5.3 kms. On our trail app we...More
