Mexico has huge potential for redeveloping its many old towns and cities, and El Fuerte is a classic sign of this work being done. We marvelled at the many old hotels and plazas here in the home of El Zorro. This place is also the...More

When we were in El Fuerte there were paid and free concerts on the patio of the palacio. It was good fun to see the locals enjoy some truly Mexican music.

The Palacio is worth a short visit mainly to see the coutyard. Interesting and well maintained. Nothing to write home about.

This was a High School, once and only later became the Municipal Palace. The building has been restored to its present state and presents itself very beautifully. Worth while visiting when in town.

This is an impressive building which complements the main plaza. Its worth a wander through to view the expansive central courtyard.

Worth seeing because there isn't much else in the town, but nothing too special. The area is nice to walk around and the square across the street is very nice.

A large building containing government offices. Interesting architecture and quite well maintained. Large central courtyard and fountain. Interesting mural on one wall depicting some of the history of the area. Worth a visit if you have the time.

Nice colonial building. There's a detailed mural if you go up to the second level. Bathrooms are available here.

If you like colonial architecture then yes this is a must place to visit. Very well kept for how old it is. Other than that there is nothing to do in here.
