The headland provides an ideal grassy spot to sit and watch whales migrating. I've seen whales as close as 100 metres to the shoreline before they turn east to navigate the offshore submerged rocks. It is a very popular 'viewing platform' so take your chairs...More

Beautiful look out points to the ocean and pristine beach. We were able to spot whales and dolphins in the distance. One even jumped and flip in the air. They were quite active spouting water into the air. Would be nice to have binoculars for...More

I have lived in The Ballina Byron area for most of my life and at 57 Hastings Point is still a favourite. Lovely shallow areas for children to swim. Spacious sandy forefront for enjoying a day at the beach.

A fantastic view from this place, especially when the whales are migrating. A great spot to sit and watch the dolphins shooting the waves(if your lucky) while munching on a kilo of king prawns

This is a great area in the channel for children and families, especially when the tide is high. Recommended for a good walk and a picnic.

A regular and beautiful walk from our caravan park, to either see the view, look for whales or look for movie stars. Location utilised for Pirates of the Carribean and presently they are filming Aqua Man.
