This beach is huge, great for surfing and walking but the water is cold, and as others have said it isn't much fun when it is blowing a gale. The rock formations are really interesting and it rarely gets crowded there so you feel as...More

Betty’s Bay has a lot of cute penguins, all living in small and very cute homes, walking freely by the Atlantic Ocean. Before you get in the payed area, you can see some penguins near the releasing area, where rehabilitated penguins can go back to...More

One of my favourite beaches in the world. There is an area towards Stony Point where the penguins live where people swim and surf but once you walk away from this area then the beach is deserted. Rough cold sea and silver sand with a...More

We where very close to the penguins the day we visited them. Easy to park the car and just a short walk to the sea. If you are in the area so visit them.

Betty's Bay has magnificent beaches. The water is too cold to swim, but I have seen the odd bather. Seems to be great for surfing with wet suites though. Don't bother going if it's windy. Can be quite unpleasant.

Fantastic. So many penguins to see and you get so close. Great views of the ocean. Loads of Cormorants to watch, watch them stretching out their wings. These are called Bank cormorants and they are in danger of extinction. Loads of Dassies running around. They...More

Located a few minutes off the main road and close to Stony Point this is a delightful, unspoilt beach that is ideal for a walk. Just ourselves and a few very keen surfers. No lifeguards, no parasols! Very natural.
