This is an excavated large Roman villa. The mosaics are remarkably well preserved and there are enough remains to get a great perspective on how this villa was in its glory days. There is a nearby visitor centre with friendly staff and interesting artefacts and reconstructions.

We had no idea there was a Roman Villa here until we arrived. It is very well-preserved with mosaics, wall paintings and lots of rooms which allows one to gain an idea of what it was like to live there in the first part of the 1st millennium AD,

Good experience and for 2.50euro entry as well. Nice bilingual staff and villa signage is also available in Spanish and English (although some of the English is much less descriptive than the Spanish).

A great place to visit and off the tourist route. We had both the archeological site and the museum to ourselves. The staff could not have been more helpful. Actually taking us too the museum and opening it up for us. It helps if you have some Spanish as there is not much covered in English. They have a roman festival in August, roman feast, theatre and market, it looked like fun. We were there at the end of August and just missed it.…
