Portchester Castle is the former site of a Roman fort commands stunning views towards Portsmouth, now just a ruin and not much to see unless you really get a frill from destroyed walls, not sure I would pay the entrance fee of £7.60 PP to...More

Take a walk back in time inside or outside the Castle grounds! Always make a stop by with friends to walk their dogs amongst the grounds. Great walking trail outside around the castle beside the water!

Went here to see a piece of british history. Didn’t go inside as we were more interested in just seeing it from the outside. Glad to see it’s kept authentic and not dolled up - no screens, not a bunch of placks and no touristification.

Great castle to visit and have a picnic. Good walk round the castle and great views of Portsmouth. Free parking and toilet facilities. You can also pay to see the armoury in the castle . There is also a good gift shop serving good coffee.

Beautiful walk with stunning views. In the summer they hold a number of music recitals and concerts here which are well worth timing your visit for.

Excellent value for money. Very interesting and good audio guide. So much more inside than looks from the outside. You can also just go in the grounds for free.
