About
There's farmyard fun for the whole family at Longdown Activity Farm. Join in with a daily schedule of hands-on activities such as bottle-feeding kid goats and calves, duck feeding, and the Animal Encounter Barn where visitors can hold chicks and meet a variety of small animals - sometimes even Kunekune piglets. There are lots of larger, friendly animals to meet too. Whatever the weather, there is lots of playtime adventures to be had in the indoor and outdoor play areas which include the Straw Den and Trampoline Barn and the soft play area (these areas are currently closed following goverment guidance) When ground conditions allow, don't miss the fabulous bumpy tractor and trailer ride. No hidden extra costs for our daily schedule of activities. Make sure you visit the Longdown Farm Shop for delicious locally sourced food - a taste of the New Forest.

Return after thirty years!
Sep 2021
We enjoyed our trip to the farm with our three year old grandson. He liked seeing the animals, bouncing on the trampoline, and playing in the mini-tractor arena. The only thing we paid extra for was the digger, and it was a pound well spent as he loved operating the levers to dig the sand.

A great family day out.
Sep 2021 • Family
We had never been here before but had a great day out. Ideal for families with younger children who want to be interactive with the animals and rides available. I wouldn’t recommend for children older than 10 as I think there wouldn’t be enough to do. We took a very active and bright 2 year old and she loved it. Taking a picnic would be good to keep the cost down but there is a well stocked cafe available too. I didn’t feel it was expensive to get in as I can appreciate feeding and caring for the animals is an expensive business. It is a little run down but then it’s a working farm but the animals looked very well cared for. Signs and hand washing stations were plentiful. The farm shop was excellent and I can recommend the meat pies.

Lovely Family Day
Sep 2021 • Family
An absolutely brilliant family day out, The farm is set in a lovely location with lots to do and see. The animal feeding was a beautiful experience for our daughter and she loved every minute of her visit. The staff were friendly and helpful, there were plenty of places to get food and drinks and the farm shop had a lovely selection of local produce and other items.

A lovely family day out
Sep 2021
Family friendly attraction for all ages, pushchair or wheel chair friendly. Plenty of hands on animal experiences along with a play park, go karts and even some indoor quiet play activities.

Lots of places indoors or outside to have a picnic or buy food there if you prefer to travel light!

Queues were short and well worth any waiting to feed baby goats their bottles or pet the chicks and guinea pigs.

Plenty of toilets and hand wash stations with gel around the site and a team member cleaning bins etc through the day.

All staff were friendly and took time to talk to the children about the animals.

Good value for money we spent all day there. All three generations had a great time!

Great Family Day Out!
Sep 2021 • Family
A fantastic day at Longdown Dairy Farm today!
A vast array of animals and great opportunities to pet and feed them.
Had lunch in their cafe which was lovely.
Really good to chat to Farmer Brian and his wife Dawn, their passion is second to none!
I would highly recommended Longdown, it’s a great family day out!

Fantastic day out, perfect for the family
Jul 2021 • Family
This was our first time visiting and we were so happy we did. There’s a big range of farm animals, with activities to feed them throughout the day.

There are so many activities for young children, a go kart track and free trampolines. The food is very good value compared to other farms/zoos and I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the animals were and how they seemed to enjoy being stroked.

We will definitely be back! Thanks for a great day

A real let down
Aug 2021 • Family
Went here a few years ago and it was a good day out. Now it’s just a load of pretty ordinary farm animals. The play barn which had a great soft play area had gone, but the admission price has gone up and if you want to use any of the attractions they fleece you for more money!

Lovely day for all
Aug 2021 • Family
Very enjoyable day out, all.kids from teenager to toddler found stuff to day, play equipment was lovely and updated. Yes we queued a bit for feeding or to hold the animals however this is expected as its why we all go... better to go for afternoon feeds as we found hardly any queues. Overall we all had a very good day

Fun on the farm!
Aug 2021 • Family
We really enjoyed our trip to the farm. The staff were friendly and the place was kept very clean - well done to the gentleman who I spotted working hard to keep everything spotless! Highlights were the chick and guinea pig handling, goat bottle feeding and the tractor ride. Kept us busy from opening at 10am until around 2pm. Lovely play park with picnic benches. Would definitely recommend and thought it was good value for money.

Not Great
Aug 2021
Expensive for what it is. This place really needs some TLC injected in to it. There were hardly any staff about and it really felt as though it isnt cared for. The animals seem to be looked after ok although the pens certainly could do with a clean. The play equipment looks pretty new but there was no control on the trampolines. They really need some staff down there to order things. The grazy golf is £1 per ball which is ok if the course you then play on has been looked after. The stones from the pathway are all over the tatty green areas which doesnt make for easy play. It would have taken a quick sweep to sort this. Parts are broken and in need of a lick of paint. Planting out the areas in between the holes would really improve the area. This could be a real little money spinner for them if they put some effort into improving the course and gave it some love. A little manned bothe with score cards and sanitation on the clubs etc would be very welcome. Maybe take some inspiration from the farm and have veggie patches and flowers, a fake bee hive etc. Use it as an education tool with info boards on each hole. It could be so so so much more. To be honest that goes with the rest of the place. It feels like a working farm thats just dumped a few other bits in so they can charge for you to come in. There is no love in the place. You can feed the animals at certain times and yes you have to queue but thats normal anywhere you go. My children enjoyed the encounter barn and got to hold a baby chick and a guinea pig. A couple of the play tractors were broken but are just left there so its pot luck if you get one that works and the smaller ride on area is just that small and its location is rather stinky. They queue for the tractor ride was ridiculous so we didn't bother with that. The little cafe and kiosk do sell a good variety of food and drinks and is reasonably priced (around the same as other places we visited) Its a shame the Duck racer didnt work as that would have been fun. More Rubbish bins are needed and staff need to empty them esp at lunch times as they were all overflowing.

Overall it has real potential to be a lovely place but for us it was overpriced and a let down. I wouldn't visit again unless improvements are made.
