The long spell of hot weather had done some damage to some of the trees, but it was still a lovely place to walk around. You need to allow plenty of time for the circular walk, but it is well worthwhile. It was nice to...More

What a lovely afternoon spent in Minterne gardens, the walk features great views of the historic house, lakes and stream that eventually cascade into the lake. Well worth the admission price.

A fabulous place to visit especially in May as the rhododendrons and azaleas are stunning and in full bloom. A laid back visit....good value for money and cakes on the terrace are to die for.

The rhododendrons were just past their best when we visited but still a nice walk around and very good value. Early on Sunday morning we had the place to ourselves.

What a very pleasant surprise these gardens are, flowers, trees and lakes, the like of which I was seeing for the first time. All in the amazing Himalayan garden you will want to spend an hour or more here, exploring the grounds. Although the house...More

Lovely tranquil garden. Rhododendrons and azaleas were spectacular. Bit of a dull day so cafe closed early so could not eat lunch. If you like gardens good little gem to visit. Takes about an hour to wak round.

Brilliant sunny Sunday in late May, and a fabulous display of Himalayan blooms. Azaleas, Rhododendrons, etc, and some are wonderfully scented which pervaded the whole gardens. The walk is well sign posted with the names of the plants and trees, complete with illustrations . Enjoy...More

On a walking tour we passed by the estate and read in our guide that with sunny weather the terrace and restaurant would be open for tea in April. However, despite the beautiful weather the place was closed, but the toilet vehicle was open. Without...More

The 2-4-1 offer made this place superb value. It is just a fraction of the cost of some other gardens, even without the discount, and well worth the visit. We saw the snowdrops before the actual snow - see photo.
