Little bit disappointed as paid 8 quid for four of us to get into the Abbey grounds but unable to see any buildings inside other than the Abbots Porch. Good walks available through the grounds though which are free.

Wandering through the pleasant village you come to the remnant of the Abbey, voluntarily give £2 per head, but not really worth it. Nice but small gardens, an inaccessible tower, some information sheets and thats about it. If you've got 15 minutes to kill may...More

The storey may be more interesting than the building. Under the porch there are a few panels with the history of the tower. Most of the dressed stones were used in the village buildings after the place got demolished. There is a sign at the...More

The Abbey must have been huge when it was whole as indicated by information at the site. What remains is a stunning gatehouse surrounded by trees. A lovely place to potter about for two quid. Change not given... Honesty box system.

A short walk from the New Inn where I was staying. The grounds were so beautiful as is the Abbey. Take time to do the grounds and the cemetery. So much history to take inl

I wish I could have spent more time in this beautiful village, however, the short time I was here I thoroughly enjoyed wandering the streets that were full of historical buildings and tales of yore. A perfect country getaway. Don't forget to visit the Giant!!

It seems to be an essential part of any village to have a hub and often a robust church, or in this case an Abbey, The village is small and compact and a joy to walk round to soak in the many styles of building...More

I don't know the property you mean, but I can recommend The Old Gaol Cottage, if your family are looking for something special.
