Balaan Bukid is one of the mountains on Guimaras Island. From a distance you can easily identify the place because of a huge cross on top of it. It is the primary place of pilgrimage in Guimaras during the Holy Week, especially every Good Friday...More

Last year, 30,000 Holy Week devotees trekked uphill to Balaan Bukid, pausing before each of the 14 mini- altars depicting the Passion of Christ. To most, it's the Lenten season pilgrimage, to others, it's the touristy thing to do in Guimaras island, aside from island...More

It's really tiring climbing. There is a chapel at the top of the hill and a gigantic cross. The main highlight is overlooking the Iloilo city skyscraper.
