The population of bat in the cave was approximately 1.8M in the year 2016 that why when you are reaching BAT area the smell of the area is not really good.

Learned a lot about the fruit bats. They help the island and specially davao in agriculture needs. They are now protected sanctuary and is also included at guiness records.

Visiting the Monfort Bat Sanctuary is an experience worth remembering...I got the opportunity to learned and walked around the 5 caves which according to our local guide started as a small hole only! What made it extra special is that it was awarded by Guinness Book of World Record last 2006 for the most number of fruit bats, approximately 1.8 million that time...wow!
