We spent half a day walking around. This is plenty of time. The zoo is well laid out and easy to get around. The animals all looked well cared for and the cages were very clean. The kiosk had lunches reasonably priced, and plenty of tables in the sun. There were also lovely clean BBQL if you wanted to bring your own.
A lovely Zoo. There were lots of young School children and they were all having a great day.

A great place to visit, and the staff are very friendly and obliging. We were amazed how clean and tidy the animal enclosures AND the visitor pathways were. It looks as though the staff are constantly raking the paths to clear the usual leaves and debris that drops at this time of year. We visited a couple of years ago, and this visit did NOT disappoint. Brilliant! A big plus was that they accepted Service NSW Discover vouchers.

Great little zoo. Up close and personal with the animals. Cafe, gift shop and a couple of enclosures where you can enter to pet and feed the animals. Meerkats were my favourite!

Arrived early on a Monday and it was very quiet. This is a wonderful small zoo, though there was plenty to see. The animals looked healthy and well cared for and the kids loved feeding the birds and kangaroos. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

One of the best zoos I've ever been to! The kids LOVED it and didn't want to leave. Highly recommend for young families. There was lots to see, easy to walk around, and the petting area was lots of fun.

I do not recommend the 'Binturong' encounter. We paid $225.00 which included photos, waste of money. The animal spent 10 mintues waking up then 5 minutes with us then climbed up the tree to go sleep. The animal was shaking and very scared, not ready for human interaction. Very disappointing. That disappointed we left without the photos. I have done the 'Meerkat' encounter previously and the animals spent the whole 20 minutes with you. Avoid or waste your money and be disappointed.

Hi karenmF6576SY We are sorry to hear your review of your Binturong encounter last weekend; it is one of our most popular encounters. Hunter Valley Wildlife Park proudly put animal welfare at the forefront of everything we do. If the animals do not want to participate in the encounters, we do not force them, it is their choice. Our experienced keepers are there to ensure that our guests and animals are both having a positive experience. As you can imagine all animals are different, so it is extremely hard to compare a Meerkat with a Binturong. Hunter Valley Wildlife Park encounters promise an up close and personal experience with unique species this can involve spending time with our Binturong and Common Marmosets and/or being a part of the hustle and bustle of our Squirrel Monkey or Meerkat group. We wish you had made comment to any of our staff on the day so that we could discuss this in person. Your photos are still at the front counter waiting for collection and we captured some great shots during your experience. Kind regards, The Hunter Valley Wildlife Park Team

A small zoo in a secluded area off a rough dirt road. Smaller than I expected but a great quality experience overall.

The animal encounter was the standout experience and well worth the high asking price. There’s plenty of time to pet the animals and ask zookeeper lots of questions. The photography package is also surprisingly excellent.

Expensive but we had a great time. There were more animals than I expected. You can hand feed and pat kangaroos, goats, camels and deer (goats quite aggressive & jump on you so if kids are scared, stand outside the gates and feed them through the fence). Food for the animals purchased on entry - there are 2 ice cream cones with food in each bag, one bag could be shared between 2 kids. Website says if it’s rainy ask them for a poncho or umbrella and they give it to you for free. Clean and tidy park. Food expensive. Clean toilets. So many monkeys! You feel very close to the animals. Really enjoyed our morning there and highly recommend to others.
