The Butuan National Museum is a simple but informative museum. It provided a glimpse into the formulation of the geography and people. The artifacts collected reflect the origins of Butuan.

Loved learning all about the history of Butuan here. I thoroughly enjoyed the artwork on display at that time. Also learned more about the Balangay or the ancient boats our ancestors used to navigate surrounding waters. Nice tourist stop when in Butuan

Spending a few days with the family, we visited the national museum near the city hall. There are a lot of interesting facts about the region that is very interesting but there are very few artifacts on display. We were told that most relics are displayed in the Ayala museum located in Manila. how shameful that they are not on display locally for tourists to enjoy the ancient capital of Butuan.

I visited with my friend and her sisters and upon arriving had to sign in at the entrance, I don't recall if there was a fee sadly.
The exhibits where very informative and interesting to look at, talking about the different animals, the landscape, historical artifacts and scientific research done with the island.
Across the bridge is a nice place to relax with food or drinks, and it is quite relaxing :D

here you can see the history of Butuanons people, the way they lived before how they interact with the foreign traders, how colorful our tradition and culture. Like they said "in the beginning there was no Philippines but there was Butuan.

A little hard to find, but worth the stop. Remains of a 3rd century boat. (Remains are similar to one found in the Sea of Galilee area of Israel that dates 2000 years ago) Also found not far from the boat were some wooden coffins dated from the 15th century. A small exhibit, but well done and worth the stop.

- The curator was definitely a delight. She led the tour around the museum and explained each item thoroughly.
- Museum was quite big but quite a few items only. They were actually expanding when we visited the place
- There was no entrance fee to the museum
- Area around the museum is full of different kinds of trees and you can even have a picnic if you wanted.

Went there to know more of Butuan. The museum provides two rooms that is informative but the facilities and exhibits were few and it's quite missing a lot.
