About
A jewel nestling in the St. Lawrence River, Parc Jean-Drapeau is without doubt one of Montreal most precious assets and a one-of-a-kind place in Canada. Discover this riche urban park spread amongst Sainte-Hélène and Notre-Dame islands and enjoy outdoor activities including kilometres of cycling paths, the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, public art, colourful gardens and walking trails that provide an amazing view of downtown Montréal. The park is also home to partners like the Casino de Montréal, La Ronde, Stewart Museum, the Biosphere and environment museum. Heir of Expo 67 and the 1976 Olympic Games, Parc Jean-Drapeau continues to inspire million of visitors annually by the quality of its facilities including its rental venues and diversified programming, both cultural (Osheaga, Heavy Montreal, Piknic Electronik, winter festival, etc.) and sports (F1 Canadian Grand Prix, dragon boat races, etc.). Due to the development of a new and modern natural amphitheatre, construction works are currently underway in the southern sector of St. Helens’ Island restricting access to certain activity and mobility around the park. The use of public transportation to get to the Parc Jean-Drapeau is strongly suggested. Visit our website to plan your visit and learn more about how to get to each attraction.

    Après-midi à la Ronde/ parc Jean Drapeau
Une après-midi fantastique! We had a superb time at La Ronde on Monday 17 July. There are plenty of rides to choose from for everyone. Some amazing ones like le Monstre et le Goliath. A bit of waiting at some of the most popular ones but not an issue as we could strike up a conversation with some lovely and friendly local residents. Mon fils a trouvé que les manèges étaient comparables à ceux de Thorpe Park à l’ouest de Londres, pas loin d’où on habite.

A quiet break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Montreal
Take the yellow line on the métro to Jean-Drapeau. Walk up out of the station and escape to a beautiful paradise just across the river from Vieux Port. In the shadow of the Jacques Cartier Bridge, take time to explore the many walking / hiking paths, the Biosphere, sport facilities. Peace and quiet can both be found here. Gorgeous picture opportunities looking back toward Vieux Port and the downtown core. The day I was here, the leaves were absolutely perfect. Just gorgeous and so much fun. I was here years ago, and it was a pleasure to come back. Just a short métro ride away on the yellow line. Very much worth the visit! Bring your walking shoes and your camera because there is a ton to see.

Nice place for people interested in learning about environment
The place is good for a visit, but not worth the fee being charged. Dome structure is a beauty from outside both during day and night. I visited during daytime. Entered the museum and read and saw all that was in display. Good to learn about different things in the environment, about pollution, birds, renewable energy, recycling etc. you get to see the cool city skyline, and nearby areas from 5th floor from inside the dome, but the steel structure won’t let you take a unobstructed picture. It’s a nice place to visit, wish the entry ticket was $15 or below.

Geodesic Dome Dominates the Landscape - in a good way!
Spent five days in Montreal, and on my last day before taking my flight home, I visited Parc Jean—Drapeau, It was easy to get to travelling by train. As soon as out of the station that you see the iconic biosphere - this geodesic dome fits in well with nature. It is a museum about the environment. Lush green and vast. I did not spend as long as I would have like to but it is worth a visit.

Granted we visted toward the end of the growing season.. but..the area within walking distance [elderly] of the metro station was not worth the trouble. this a huge park and a vehicle is needed for touring. attempted to rent a scooter but my phone [safari search engine] would not access the network. caught a bus and toured the Casino instead....lol

It is a nice stop but parking is expensive 8.5 cad, the only thing to watch is the observation deck, in fact nothing inside, but the walking in the park is nice, May was very warm could nit spend tome for walking, besides the entrance ticket to the dome is required. Although parking machine has credit card options, better to have coins, it was not working.

We were expecting a lovely walk in the park on this fall day, but were disappointed by all of the construction that got in the way. In too many places our walk was disrupted by roadblocks causing us to redirect. And then we were on walk ways that were lined by concrete barriers. Not pretty.

Didn’t have the time and energy to tour the entire park on foot so we took the short cut and did the 45 min Discovery Ride. For $14, you ride on an electric cart and it drove you around the whole park with a tour guide and you get to be on the formula one track and see almost everything in the park within this short time. A very comfy ride and time saving. Park is easy to get to by the metro, then you can take the ferry to Old Port or Longueuil for another relaxing experience.

Amazing show in the Parc (not the weather though). We walked home as the Metro was insanely crowded and it was a lovely way to get home!

I went there on a rather hot day, walked around for a bit. No coffeeshops, one restaurant near the Metro station Jean Drapeau, and their coffee was disgusting, after one sip returned it. I wasn't too impressed walking around. Cycling there would have been better. A nice place for families.
