The area

Neighborhood: Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

i came across the university and was really impressed by the buildings. It reminded me of both a number of English ones and also Chicago university. Particularly liked the Soldiers tower

It's one of the top universities in Toronto and North America. It's surrounded by greenery. While lying on the grass, you can enjoy the view of CN Tower.

The University of Toronto is located in the Downtown area and is very grand indeed. There are lots of really beautiful buildings to admire and you do not need to pay to walk round the oiet utside.

It is a very nice area and we visited at the weekend so it was fairly quiet too.

Historic buildings. I decided to stop by since it was very close to my hotel. The architecture of the buildings were awesome, and many of them were historic buildings.

The university is super cool and I have been there a few times now, but lately, with all the constructions in it, it has become difficult to visit most of the sites in the university.

Wow. My daughter and I went on a campus tour in late April. The grounds are stunning!! So many historic buildings. We were also impressed by what the U of T has to offer in terms of student services and programs.

We explored the Hart House portion of the campus for the sole purpose of finding some Tommy Boy filming sites. We walked a lot around the entirety of the Hart House and very much enjoyed the grounds and beautiful buildings. There were some people apparently filming some sort of music video while we were there. We found two outdoor spots that were in Tommy Boy but I was really excited to find the door he tried to open. Unfortunately, I believe it’s behind locked gates in a construction zone. One of the gates has a sign saying construction is expected to be done September 2021 so it was a little annoying to have it still locked up in August 2022 but it is what it is. Still a beautiful campus. Also, sorry if you’re like the people I asked on campus and have no idea what Tommy Boy is. This review will be very confusing for you. Haha.

In search of new places to walk through while COVID restrictions are in effect, we went for a walk on the St George campus of the U of T. It is a familiar place, of course, somewhat disrupted at the moment by the construction taking place on the Front Campus, where an underground garage is being installed awning with other changes. The resulting mess keeps this from getting an excellent rating at this time.
