The Ed Mirvish Theatre began its life in 1920 as a combination vaudeville and motion picture theatre in the Pantages theatre circuit. With its original 3373 seats, it was the largest cinema in Canada and, with its lavish interior - designed by the great theatre architect Thomas Lamb - the most elegant. David Mirvish officially renamed the iconic building The Ed Mirvish Theatre on December 6, 2011.

This is an old elegant theater in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. That said, it was fabulous. For the Wicked production there is a lottery for about 20 tickets ($25 cash each). You line up outside 2.5 hours before the show. Present your ID and if...More

The theatre is beautiful. Seats are more comfortable than I remembered. Wicked was a fantastic show with a very talented cast. There were a few issues with microphones not working right. They were quickly corrected, but I felt like I missed something important..

Wicked the musical is a well put together show. It’s a prequel to the Wizard of Oz. The story line is very interesting & unpredictable. The performers were outstanding, the musical score is phenomenal & despite the limitation of the stage, they were able to...More

Visited for production of Wicked. Fabulous show!! Theatre is very clean and well maintained and seats are comfortable with more than ample legroom .... BUT washroom facilities for ladies are woefully inadequate!

I think the balcony but not the first row of it as the railing might be in the sight line and that is frustrating.
