Great park to walk in a sunny day and have a picnic. Perfect spot for a picture of Toronto skyline. You can take the ferry or a taxi boat at harbour front.

Unfortunately, I did not get to see this park in the daytime. However, I did get over to it on the ferry after the evening sun had gone down.

My main purpose was to see what the Toronto skyline looked like from this park perspective.

Here's a few photos of what I got.

Well maintained and landscaped park which is easily accessible by ferry from the Toronto HarbourFront district. Bring some comfortable shoes since this is lots of walking paths. Do note that on site food options are very limited so consider packing some snacks for the visit. Also bring a camera and binoculars for stellar views of the Toronto walk front. It can get windy at the southern beach.

The Ferry ride over to the islands is great. The old ferries have ambiance, and you get stunning views of Toronto's skyline. Then the islands themselves offer lots of different features including beaches, forest, a little community of cottages and some canals and inlets with yacht clubs.

So nice! Lovely to walk around the whole island, only took about an hour. Really pretty scenery and the restaurant right by the ferry was delicious

Pack a picnic, bring your bicycle (or rent one on the island) and enjoy a free and easy day on this island. Make sure you watch the sunset before heading back to the mainland. And the ferry is cheap, only $8 per adult round trip and yes, you're allowed to bring your bicycle on board. I recommend going in September after school starts because it gets quite crowded in the summer.

We planned this trip 2 months out due to personal schedules. We were so disappointed with the lack of activities that were open. This was august 22nd. The bike rental was closed. Restaurants were closed. Ferries weren’t running on schedule. Beaches we’re busy with “training activities”. Thankfully we brought our own lunch because the only offering was Pizza Pizza. I doubt we’ll be back. If things aren’t open in the summer, when are they open?

We took the ferry over to Ward's Park for dinner. The vibe, food, and fun was well worth the long lines getting there. However, I am sooooo thankful that the speedboats were available for the return trip. The lines for the ferry are too long .

Fun rides for kids. We took metro (metro equivalent, Canadian street car, subway and bus network) to the Toronto Centre island. Got off and walked around to exhaust the kids while taking rides. By the time we were done with rides the kids were hungry so we had a picnic. We later went to the beach. Open lush grounds with awesome colorful and beautiful flowers and views. Plenty of space for whatever you are into. Spent the entire day till the kids were done. The ride back on the ferry was great. You should try this when the island is open. Pre order your tickets online and skip the line at main entrance, a plus.

We liked the islands, but the catering is abysmal. We queued for ages for pizza, there were only a few slices left (at lunchtime) and they were nearly cold (completely cold by the time we paid and sat down). Didn't seem to be any proper sit down restaurants, just naff kiosks with hardly any staff or actual food.

But bring a picnic and all will be perfect.
