I accompanied my son's class trip to this urban farm that I hadn't known existed. It's quite quaint, having a farm in the middle of the city where property values are likely through the roof. Also, it's free to visit if you're going on your...More

There isn't much to do here but for kids who want to hit a tiny "petting zoo" the location can't be beat. It's also steps away from one of Canada's smallest and oldest cemeteries. A nice place to visit for an hour or two.

Every visit to Riverdale is wonderful. It's always a treat when one of the farmers is available to talk about the animals -- they're all super knowledgeable and clearly love their work. BONUS is taking a class there -- we do the music program with...More

Well, by donation. Throw them one, they're worth it. Lots of farm critters and a cheap and fun day out with paths, farm beasts, and often demos and events. Can't go wrong ( aside from LOTS of hilly walking).

Leave your pets at home, but bring the kids! Goats, pigs, and, of course, cows and horses in abundance with explanations on care and feeding. Riverdale Farm gives city kids a chance to see what life was like on a farm in the recent past.

It's a farm, not a petting zoo, but in some cases it's possible.
