Fun time

I discovered the Sudbury 5 which is a Canadian professional basketball team based in Sudbury that play in the National Basketball League of Canada. They play at the Sudbury Community Arena which for its size was a good venue.

There was lots of energy in the building, and the team was entertaining to watch. It should definitely be something to check out while in the Sudbury area.

Sudbury Wolves

Came to this arena to watch the Sudbury Wolves as a fan of the opposing team. I received the usual chirping and heckling from the home team fans as would be expected in any arena, which was all in good fun. Nothing ever crossed the line I'd say. YMMV if you're a fan of a division rival though, as with all teams.

I was just barely able to get parking across the arena an hour before puck drop. $5 to park there, not sure about how many other places are available so please plan ahead.

I probably won't make the trip again due to it being several hours away from home one-way, but good arena nevertheless! Cannot go wrong with hockey in Canada, and the tickets are reasonably priced for Major Junior hockey.

Visit from Dario Himself!
Jan 2018 • Family
Went to our first wolves game over the winter out of all the years we've been in Sudbury, and the seats we got from online sudbury arena generator gave us crappy seats. Dario came down and noticed we were unhappy and directed us toward the private box section to finish the night. Really enjoyed the game and can't beat talking to the owner.

Wolves game

It's your typical arena. The sounds system isn't the best. Seats were satisfactory. Not big on the stuffed wolf they pull out across the arena when the team scores. Enjoyed seeing the mascott and it getting the crowd going. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

Barrie vs wolves game

Good game, fairly close. My 2nd time watching a game here. My daughter had a blast as I took her to the game for a weekend trip. Definitely one of the older arenas in the OHL but still had a good time. Food was fairly pricey tho

A CHL rink without a CHL fanbase
Oct 2017 • Friends
It's sad really. I mean this arena is probably on it's final breath of OHL hockey as the ownership continues its efforts to move the team.

The rink is average in size for what its purpose is as the home of the wolves. There certainly is character to is, fit with a taxidermy wolf and a new goalhorn, among many new upgrades this season such and cameras and lighting.

Concourses are usually packed, but not for excess volume, but rather lack of space. Concessions are typical, and nothing special.

It would be nice to see more people come to games, but until the wolves win more often, we will see much more fans dressed as seats during wolves games.

One of the last older OHL arenas.
Sep 2017 • Friends
Attended the 2017-18 home opener against Oshawa. As expected, the arena is older than most in the OHL. Finding our way around the arena was not an issue. Other fans mentioned this arena will be replaced in the next couple of years. I am not overly familiar with the Sudbury area, but I really hope the new arena stays downtown. Just my two cents as a fan who has been to most of the rinks in the OHL.

A very nice area with comfortable seats and environment, easy to enter and exit. All seats had a good view of the ice.
