They check all bag and no pets allowed. Be sure to go inside the visitor center when you there to see the times the ships arrive. There is a lot of good information inside. Watching the ships rise is like watching paint dry. It was...More

Beautiful place to stop and watch tour boat go up and down locks and nice park to walk. You won’t be disappointed. Park also has very nice walking trails with patio huts where you can rest or do some fishing.

You have to see this place and watch the locks in action. The walk to it is just beautiful and the Swing Arm Dam is really interesting next time we visit on one of the tour boats.

The canal is great but don't visit without visiting the trails on the islands between the locks. The view of the rapids are worth the walk

While strolling along the boardwalk, we made our way to this area just as one of the tour boats was going through the lock. We’ve traveled the Erie Canal, so we are a bit familiar with them. It is fun to watch the boats navigate...More

It was interesting to watch boats go through the locks. Then there are some very pleasant walking paths to get to where you can see the rapids on the river; you can see across to the U.S. Side. There is a huge park area with...More

After walking the boardwalk we came across the canal/lock. We watched a boat lock in/out and walked around reading the plaques. Continue walking onto Whitefish island....very cool. I'll be back.

Watched 6 ships pass through the lochs from the viewing platforms. The staff in the museum and the volunteers were very informative and so pleasant. Definitely a must see.

The rapids on the St. Mary's river are just outside downtown SSM Canada. Just go to to the Canadian locks, cross the locks and walk through the semi-wild park (good path).
