I like bridges. Mainly because you can cross water without dyeing or getting your feet wet. Can see from most areas of downtown.

This bridge crosses the river which is the boundary between Quebec and Ontario. Walkers, Runners and Cyclists - they were all on the bridge - oh and some cars. Alexander Bridge was built in 1900 and still looks good today. Great views of the back...More

Bridge is a short walk up the hill from the locks. Walked across to Gatineau. The bridge has separate car, bike and pedestrian portions so it is a very safe walk across. Took about 15 minutes to cross the bridge.

We recommend a walk across the bridge which gives great views of the city and Parliament Hill. We walked from Gatineau and the Museum of History to the National Gallery of Canada. Then on for dinner in Byward Market.

Crossing the Alexandria Bridge was the final part of our half-marathon last weekend and it provided a lovely vista for our final kilometres. Even running, it is hard not to whip out the camera phone and take photos. Beautiful scenery from this bridge.
