Had a tour of Parliament - guide was excellent and we made it to top of Peace Tower - even though the lift wasn't working !!! Well worth doing if only to see the library, it's like something out of Hogwarts.

Even though you don't consider yourself politics enthusiast, you should definitely visit this place when in Ottawa. You'll learn quite a few interesting facts about how Canadian government works, but more importantly, you'll see some great and impressive architecture accompanied by an interesting narrative. These are one of a kind, build is a grand style. The aerial view when captured with the Fairmont is spectacular. A must see when in Ottawa.

We braved sub-freezing weather to tour the facility after learning the building would be closing in a few month for major remodeling, which will take ten years. Tickets must be obtained in advance from the ticket office across the street (look for the '?' on...More

We drove from Toronto for the sole purpose of visiting our Parliament and we were told "Sorry/Sold Out". Yes access is free but why do we still have an archaic system of "first come -first serve". We book all (..ok , most) Europeans venues online...More

You need to see this at least once if you're Canadian, and it's worth the security search! Beautiful historic building that screams Canadian humility but confidence in our democracy.
