Have been through this bridge many times but mainly to cross from Canada to Buffalo and back. Never managed to stop our car midway to take photos of the falls (never get jammed probably because we always chose the off peak hours to cross). But...More

There are some interesting views of the falls from the bridge, so we wanted to go out and take a look The problem is the bridge is also the border between Canada and the USA, so there's the issue of having to cross the border....More

Walking across Rainbow Bridge is fantastic. Watch for the old marker in the middle of the bridge when you cross the border. You MUST have your passport. Canadian customs smiles and welcomes you to Canada. US Customs will keep you in a holding pen, just...More

The idea is to walk this bridge walking to get the best photos of this wonder. It takes about 6/7 minutes.

This bridge was built in 1943, replacing the original bridge that was destroyed by ice in 1938. A passport is required for crossing the bridge.

You can walk across this bridge from the US to Canada (or vise versa). You MUST have your passport though, as you will have to meet with a border agent each time you cross. But the views of the falls are spectacular from the bridge....More

Great view of the falls while traveling across. I'd recommend walking across to get some great pictures.

I wish we'd walked it instead of driving over it in a van. The view of the falls was great. I can only imagine that it would be better when walking over it.

Distance-wise you are about 26 miles from the airport. And it should take you about 35-40 minutes in driving. Rush hour is probably going to be the issue. You can cross the bridge/border during the night, so wait times... More

As others have indicated, if walking, you can leave the US and re-enter the US without entering Canada by just staying on the bridge. You can walk all the way to the Canadian side, just don't go through the Canadian exit... More

Yes, there is parking on the American side by the Rainbow bridge and you will need a passport if you plan on walking over it to the Canadian side.
