It’s a fun place to just be to sit and relax by the waterfront or grab a snack or simply stroll taking in all the sites. It’s nice and wide so it accommodates the summer influx of tourists well. Very inviting place to be.

Great for a stroll and to check out a few gift shops. The area is under construction right now so not all that peaceful.

You can’t go to Halifax and not go to the waterfront! There are always lots of people around and you won’t have any trouble finding a food venue if you’re hungry. There are also the usual souvenir gift shops if you’re so inclined. If nothing...More

A several mile long stretch of boardwalk, with shops, restaurants, museums, stalls, music and a great ambience.

Thought it was really nice before, but it's good as well now. Best part is the extra paving they've installed by the kayak rentals. We went to see the drunken lamp posts and weren't disappointed. Lots of interesting things but Theodore the Tugboat wasn't there,...More

We've visited TOO MANY re-claimed waterfronts, where the municipality is trying so hard to re-vitalize the downtown harbor areas by trying to cater to tourists. They are rarely very interesting or inviting. However, Halifax has somehow managed to create an area that is inviting and...More

We had a great time there. Must do in Halifax. Many tours options either by Segway, bus or boat. Beautiful to see and hear the history of Halifax.

The boardwalk gives you great views of the harbour and down town Halifax. It is easy walking and there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars along the way.

A beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the water. The only thing we HATED was that people throw their trash right on the ground instead of in the plenty of trash barrels provided. We picked up a small bag of random trash by the...More

Visited boardwalk early morning before the crowds. Saw seals in the harbor and people exercising. Also visited after businesses opened when it was busy. There is much to see and enjoy. Good place to bring children.

Just use your credit card. The major ones are accepted everywhere. Visa, Mastercard and Amex for sure. All local prices are in CAD but you will be billed in USD which would be in your favor. The exchange rates given by... More

Yes. People walk their dogs on the boardwalk quite often. they have to be on a leash and you must, of course, pick ul after them. If your dog is cute (and aren't they all?) be prepared for the occasional petter.
