There are three museums in this cluster, all situated along the historic Shelbourne waterfront - The Dory Shop, The Ross-Thomson House and the Shelbourne County Museum. One pass will get you into all three museums. In the dory shop you can see these small boats...More

My husband and I were in Shelburne for a week and while most of it was spent touring outside of town, we had one day of rain and no plans. This led to a visit to the three museums (Shelburne Museum Complex). We thoroughly enjoyed...More

A day trip to Shelburne is always such a pleasure! The waterfront, which has served as a prop for many movies in the past, including the Scarlet Letter, is the third best natural harbour in the world. The buildings are very historic, and beckon one...More

Three museums in one. The star of the complex is undoubtedly the Dory Shop museum, but the Ross Thompson house was also fine. Each museum on its own was quite small but we still spent nearly two hours in the complex.

All 3 museums were super interesting. We especially enjoyed meeting Milford, the master boat builder at the Dory museum and the costumed tour guides in the historic home run by the merchants of Shelburne.

Contrary to some other reviewers, I found the Shelburne county Museum small but excellent. There are memorabilia and information about the original native tribes, the Acadians, the New Englanders who moved up there, the black Loyalists, right up to the present day people. And one...More

Shelburne itself is a great place to visit, just for the views over the bay, but there is plenty to explore here and the Museums do a great job of presenting the history of the town. A combined ticket can be bought so you can...More
