Overview
More
Located minutes from downtown Winnipeg, Fort Gibraltar is an ideal venue for hosting a variety of events: weddings, corporate meetings, private functions, group tours and more! Historical tours and Three rooms are available year-round, offering modern facilities in an historical setting. (reservation requires) In the summer, Fort Gibraltar is also a living history museum offering interactive and educational guided tours about the fur trade era. Our costumed interpreters relive the daily life of the inhabitants of the site in 1815 as you visit significant buildings in the fort such as the blacksmith shop, the winterer's cabin and the trading post. In February, the historical venue is at the heart of the largest winter festival in Western Canada, the Festival du Voyageur.

The fort really brings alive the fur trade experience. Reeinactors are well versed in their roles and answer questions from a historical perspective.

If you are a tourist, or even if you live here, do not miss to visit it. A trip in history. A great way to discover how do they live in the Prairies decades, centuries ago! Ideal to bring kids

We went in February 2018. The $100.00 admission for four of us was really overpriced for this event. Staff at the ticket office had no information. Not much to see. Food was awful. Poorly organized with unmotivated staff. Don’t waste your time and money. Go...More

An icon to visit during Festival. You simply must do Fort Gibraltar if you're doing Festival du Voyageur in Feb. Great fun, great music, great history to be amazed by.

Had a private function here and had the place to ourselves. Enjoyed the axe throwing and the explanation about the history of the Fort. Food was excellent, sourced mostly from Manitoba.

May be September is not the appropriate timing to visit this attraction as although the place was open but you can walk just outside the buildings.
