With the limited resources available, I was deeply moved by the care and attention given to this amazing writer from this part of the world. The staff were knowledgeable and allowed us to roam as the displays speak for themselves.

This is a beautiful little house, well staged to represent the era when it was lived in from the furniture to the little touches like ladies clothing arranged around the various rooms.

It is a really nice museum in the house of Gabrielle-Roy in the heart of old St. Boniface. It sure gives you a glimpse of the past.

As far as I know this is one of just two Manitoba author's houses that are now museums (The other is the Margaret Laurence House in Neepawa). It's interesting that Gabrielle Roy may be more well known in Quebec than she is in her home...More
