This is the heart of the West End, a place to focus your city wandering as there are great restaurants, cafes and shops. Very busy and popular. You are in the middle of it all.

Typical shopping area, with typical “chain” merchants. Fair mix of low to high end, but more “in between” merchants. Lot of small, neighborhood dining places. Definitely easy to find something to eat, without having to wait. Wish there was more bench seating up and down...More

If you’re looking for the main shopping area of Vancouver then this is it. Decent variety with at least some Canadian stores. Aril is places to eat and explore including the art museum. A central part of downtown not to be missed.

We enjoyed it. I had read in a tour book (or somewhere) that this was THE place to shop in Vancouver. And I guess it was. We spent a couple hours in many (too many to mention or remember) shops. I particularly liked Roots. Didn't...More

Perfect for retail shopping if that's your thing. Still central shops demand a certain price level. So don't expect bargins - you will still need to do your homework. We were there in July, so you will encounter busy streets, including vagabonds frequenting the main...More
