Taken quite a few ferry rides over our trips to BC and all have been lovely. Sometimes food and drink has been tricky, but they do a good job given the mass crush when everyone rushes to eat. Views are always fantastic and quite enjoyable....More

I have been travelling on BC Ferries for almost 40 years and have always enjoyed tremendous safe and efficient service. I often comment to family and friends to enjoy their "cruise", when taking a BC Ferry. For the first time in so many years, and...More

BC Ferries Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo is a good way to get to Vancouver Island. On board you can spend the crossing time eating, shopping, reading or lounging. There is a children's play room and a family washroom. There's lots to look at as the...More

Wow this Ferry is huge, and has everything you need on board. Food, drinks, shopping, business corner, loads of seating inside or out. Very clean and staff are brilliant .

Ignoring the loading delay, the overall experience this time was disappointing aa there was no lounge on the vessel plus it was crowded and food choices seemed limited But it is well organised .

My wife and I used this service on a busy Queen Victoria weekend. We had reservations from Nananimo-Horshoe Bay at 3:30, but got there early and we were able to take an earlier ferry. Very professsional and orderly.

Using the ferry to get to Vancouver Island was super easy & convenient. There are two different destinations though, so make sure you look at your departure location! Also, make a reservation online to ensure you get the departure time/location you want - spots fill...More

Don't really have much of a choice right now in terms of getting off the island with a vehicle. Staff can be hit or miss (everyone has off days, and some folks have job security). As a non smoker, I don't understand the no smoking...More

We had it figured out an hour or so before departure, but for our few days on Vancouver Island, we truly thought we were leaving from Schwartz Bay, even though we wanted to get to Horseshoe Bay on the mainland. That would have been a...More

hi, I believe that you don't need to reserve for walking on but double check on the BC Ferries web site to double check for summer time rules.

If you take the last ferry in or out the fee is extremely cheap. This is what we do. They have it posted on the ferry as well.
